Established in 2018 by award-winning writer/director Patrice D. Bowman, Bowman Pictures is a growing production and post-production company located in New York City.
Bowman Pictures crafts award-winning original films, produces commissioned short-form projects for creatives, and provides coloring services for the projects of talented filmmakers (who have screened at the Tribeca Festival and on PBS Reel South) and of many well-known brands, such as Target and Nike.
Through our work, we focus on underrepresented stories that inspire, entertain, and educate.
Patrice D. Bowman
After I graduated with a B.A. in Film Studies from Yale University in 2015, I moved to New York City to pursue my film career.
As a writer/director, my work focuses on the mental and spiritual lives of women of color. My short films have screened nationwide at many festivals, including the Academy Award-qualifying Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series.
I was a 2023 artist-in-residence at the Ucross Foundation. I'm also a Stowe Story Labs alumna.
As a colorist, I work with independent storytellers and major creative agencies. Dedicated to making the art of color more accessible, I conduct color grading workshops.
